F/W 1999 Gucci runway sample velvet and leather top
One of my favorite pieces I’ve ever had in the shop. Gucci runway sample piece, I believe produced for the F/W 1999 show (though I don’t think it walked). Chartreuse liquid silk velvet front with a leather panel across the shoulders above a seductive fully open back. Leather panel and waist strap fasten with velcro closure, a funny quirk of this sample piece.
Sizing
Marked an Italian size 42. Fits like a modern XS. Shown here on a 5’3” size XS model.
Measurements
16” bust* | 13” waist* (diameter of leather waist strap) | 22” length
* measurements taken with garment laying flat; double to get measurements as worn
Condition
Good vintage condition overall, with some minor flaws to note. There are some small brown spots on the front velvet, as well as a 1.5” tear in the velvet under the right armpit (pictured), not very noticeable when worn.
