1960s ice blue bellydance costume
Stunning handmade bellydance costume fully beaded in blue and silver, with a striped motif accented by mirrored paillette flowers and cascades of beaded fringe.
Costume consists of five pieces: beaded choker, padded underwire bra top, hip belt, one long wrist piece, and one smaller bracelet-style wrist piece. Bra top, necklace, and hip belt close with large-scale hook-and-eye closures. The longer wrist piece features an adjustable velcro closure, and the smaller bracelet piece closes with a snap. All closures are fully functional.
Note that this is a performance garment that has been well-loved, so it is not without imperfections, and I have priced accordingly. That being said, this is still a spectacular piece for wear or display, and one of my favorite dance costumes I have ever encountered. See below for a detailed description of condition.

Condition
Fair, wearable vintage condition with some noticeable flaws, which I have done my best to describe and represent in the photos. There is a 1” section of missing fringe on the top below the left bra cup. Many of the silver paillettes have been scratched from wear such that their reflective coating has come off in places. Some beads, sequins, and crystals may be slightly loose or prone to fall off with vigorous movement, though the vast majority are intact and I have not noticed any falling off in the time that I have had this piece.
