1950s copper and cream dance costume
Handmade knit cotton showgirl’s bodysuit with ruffled lace and copper sequin detail. Sequin-coated elastic straps and rear metal zipper closure. The name “Zabelle” is inscribed in pen on the lining.
Unlike many costume pieces from this era, I find this piece to be quite comfortable to wear and move around in, as there is no underwire or boning involved.
Sizing
Fits like a modern XS-small. There is a fair amount of stretch throughout. Shown here on a 5’3” size XS model.

Good vintage condition with moderate wear throughout. A few small areas of color variation and color transfer due to age, and a few small holes in the knit on the rear and right hip (pictured).
